HASTINGS, Minn. -- A 29-year-old man from Rosemount who was a former Minneapolis Police officer pleaded guilty Tuesday to five counts of First Degree Aggravated Robbery and two counts of First Degree Attempted Aggravated Robbery in connection with a series of robberies in Apple Valley, Eagan and Rosemount from Dec. 16, 2009 to Jan. 5, 2010.
Timothy Edward Carson will be sentenced at Dakota County Court on Dec. 14.
Carson was indicted Feb. 2 in federal court for an Apple Valley bank robbery. He pled guilty and was sentenced to 96 months in prison on Aug. 2.

Carson was also charged in Hennepin County Court with five additional crimes of aggravated robbery, which occurred between Dec. 15, 2009 and Jan. 4, 2010. He pled guilty to those crimes and received a sentenced of 120 months to be served concurrent with the federal sentence.
