MONMOUTH, Ill. (AP) -- Warren County authorities say a Minnesota man is dead after being struck by a train.

Scott James Sween of Rochester, Minn. was hit and killed by a train late Monday in the western Illinois community of Monmouth.
Warren County Coroner Bill Underwood says Sween was in Monmouth helping a friend with construction work at the time of the accident.

According to Underwood, questions remain surrounding the 48-year-old man's death. Illinois State Police were investigating the incident, the circumstances of which were not immeditately disclosed.

Underwood says until toxicology tests are returned, it won't be known if alcohol was a factor in Sween's death. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
