ST. PAUL, Minn. - Time is running out to file your taxes.

State officials want to make sure military families, as well as low and moderate income families, know they can file state and federal taxes for free.

Minnesota Free File services are available online 24/7. Eligible taxpayers can use Free File anywhere they feel comfortable using the internet; there is nothing to download or buy. To get started, taxpayers should gather their tax documents and visit taxes.state.mn.us and click "Individual Income Tax," then "Online services," then "See if you qualify to e-file for free!"

To file federal taxes for free, visit freefile.irs.gov.

The state program is a partnership between the government and private tax software companies.

Minnesota is one of 22 states that also offer a state Free File program.
